the main difference is the size of frame rail and the capacity of higher axle/suspension ratings from the factory on the DM models. the DM had bigger frame rails and came with camelback springs as standard equipment and the option for heavy frt/rear axle and supension setups.

I always thought that the "DM" came from "dump - mixer", anybody got any thoughts on that?

Think your right, here’s a few more I can think of.

CH = Conventional Highway

CT = Conventional Truck = Granite

CV = Conventional Vocational = Granite

CX = Conventional ? = Vision

CXP = Conventional Vocational ? = Vision

CHU = Conventional Highway US07

CXU = Conventional ? US07 = Pinnacle

GU = Granite US07 = Granite

CL = Conventional Logger

RD = Refuse Dump

DM = Dump Mixer

LE = Low Entry

MR = Municipal Refuse
