Another Obama Plan To Stop The Oil Leak

Funny stuff, but we may have a problem with Britain as BP pays most of thier economy? Just like Alaska. They want to let BP file bankruptcy to avoid the cleanup, bastards. Just something to watch.

If the spill costs more than they have, what other option is there? People "boycotting" BP won't help, either, as if they cannot sell the oil & gas they hold in reserve (which they have already spend money extracting & refining), they won't have the money they need to stop the leak OR pay any damages. If the damages work out to be more than BP can pay and survive, they will close up shop and liquidate their assets. Thousands will be out of work (until the buyers of the assets are online and the rigs and refineries are back up and operating again)...not to mention, the way this administration is using powers they don't have under the Constitution to seize the assets of BP, what other oil company will ever want to do business in the US?

Stop the leak. That should be priority #1. Don't worry about funding the recovery until the leak is stopped (and you can asses the total extent of the damages). To pay the damages while the leak is still active is putting the cart before the horse. Let BP pay $20 billion into this Unconstitutionally mandated "escrow account", only to come up $15 billion short of what they needed to stop the leak. The leak will continue, and BP will be broke (and out of business). At that point, NO damages will be paid to anyone (as the corporation no longer exists) and the oil will still be gushing from the gulf floor.

And what's this I was hearing in the news about several other Countries, who have experience with, and are equipped to handle this kind of problem, offering to come in and deal with it,and the President say's "No,we have it covered."?

As Rowdy stated, even if the POTUS takes control of all assets, WE still do not have the expertise to deal with the leak.

Hell, we can't make money in a whorehouse, how can we make money in the petro/oil business.

Also, yes the gov. turned down offers from other countries to help. Jones Act, yada, yada BS

I hadn't heard that, but that doesn't surprise me. I heard on the Howard Stern (yeah!) show weeks ago about Kevin Costner and his brother. Kevin Costner's brother is a scientist and had invented some kind of device that would clean oil from water, Kevin had invested most of the money in it, but when they tried to tell BP or the government about it no one wanted to listen to them. Then when all else failed they came calling. I just saw Kevin Costner on TV last weekend talking about it.

Because people with common sense have sense enough NOT to run for public office. Anyone willing to have their good name dragged though the mud in a political campaign places the power they seek over their personal reputation...and so elections turn into a knock-down drag-out fight where voters are stuck with a choice between the lesser of the evils instead of getting to choose between two or more qualified and well respected individuals.
