Id like to run my vin number on my 79 R Model to check out its history, is it the Mack Museum who I contact to do this or Mack itself?? I cant remember.

You can try the museum...79 is a bit modern for them, but I think they do have some history on that vintage.

I was at the museum a little over a year ago. They had alot of files there for that vintage.

It was a bit of a bummer to find out they were lacking in the files for trucks built at the former Oakville, Canada plant.(VIN #'s starting with 2M2N)

Mack Canada and Toronto Branch disposed of alot of files and drawings rather then sending it all down to the museum when they downsized Canadian operations.

I Know a guy from the inside that was really upset with that. He did all he could to covince managment to ship it all back to Allentown.

Huge let down for Canadian die hard Mack fans.

Good luck though.

The Mack Museum can help with your truck history. It may take a little longer at this point as they are in the middle of a relocation. Doug
