Hi Guys,

I am not a pro when it comes to Mack. I will like to know what year did Mack start installing 4 valve / cylinder engines in the R models.

Any physical attribute to know a 4 valve engine from a 2 valve engine?

Also, what year did the electronic fuel management began on these engines?

Thanks a lot.

Aluminum valve covers tell u that its a 4 valve head. I THINK 84 was the first year of the 4 valve heads. As for electronic fuel pump? I think it was about 93 or 94.

If I remember correctly the fuel injectors installed from the side on an E6 four valve head also.
