I have a 1972 mack CF611 that has had the pump removed from it. It has the 5 speed transmission in it. I am interested in switching to a straight drive shaft so I can remove the trasfer case that is left over from the pump. Right now the transfer case ks mounted in there just because the driveshafts need it. Are there any models on the 600 chasis that would have a single straight drive shaft that I could put in place of what I have?

Thanks,

Matt

depends how long the shaft will be from trans yoke to the diff. you may need a center support bearing if its to long. the center support will mount to a crossmember closer to the transmission

Driveshafts can be made easy and fairly cheep depending on if you reuse the old yokes and if you need a center support bearing. first find the length and you can go from there. you may be able to find a shaft out of a long WB truck and have it shortened?
