I have a 84 Chevy truck and every time i turn on the head lights my Gages, Blinkers, and the backlighting stop working. Could this just be a short in the wiring or is their a fuse box that i can track this to? Has anyone else had this problem? I would appreciate any help.

You have a bad/corroded ground someplace in the truck. Could be in the main connector that feeds through the firewall from the engine side to the passenger side as those had a tendency to overheat and melt.
