** Yes I missed the "r" in Superline"r" **

The company I used to work for had an 85 Superliner. It had a 400 E9, 12 speed, small hiab crane and a 24' steel deck. The turing radius was terrible, almost dagerous. I'd have to do a 3 point turn in many many intersections even if I swung wide. The steering box was mounted on the outside of the drivers frame rail, really low, it completely blocked the path of the tire. It wasn't a defect but was a definate design flaw. The steering was just as bad in either direction.

Does anyone know what that axle/steering set up was (axle weight rating)? Or what years and models it was used?

I assume it was a relitively heavy axle as the front tires were 13R22.5 (very high capacity)

Ditto....my RS had bad turning also. When i installed the powere steering box I cranked the stops back and it turns like a dream. If you have flotation tires and or a longer frame it seams the factory makes turning angels less to save wear on the truck.
