I have a question for all.

I work for Forceprotection Inc as an instructor and we build the Buffalo Route Clearance vehicle, our early trucks use the Mack ASET AI-400 engine setup. The standing procedure for shut down if the truck isnt run hard is to cycle the key off then back to run and off again to shutdown. On the first turn of the key to off starts the idle shutdown timer and by turning back to run then off causes a hard shut off.

Here is my question, is this a normal operation and can this cause problems with any onboard electronics?

Thanks,
