A fresh engine will help without a doubt and using a properly calibrated pump, injectors, and turbocharger is about all you can do with an E6 series engine and it live a long life. 350 horse is about all you want to go. If you install a mechanical E7 series, the power can gained can be much greater.

Like Rob said. Also what trans you got makes some difference. I would be carefull with the 350 fuel setting if its only a 6 speed. But if a 9 or 10 speed then go for it. I would not go any more than the 350. Thanks Rob and Barry for getting me back on the site.

Are you sure you have a 300,the 685 was a 237. the 686 was a 285-300. maybe someone changed the engine, the 85 300 had a charge air cooler in front of the raditor, if it is a 237 the rods may not be heavy enought for 350hp. Ron
