Hi all;

Just wanted to let you know my '45 :mack1: EH has a new owner. as much as I love that truck,I realized I probably would never be able to do a decent restoration on it,and it killed me to not be able to put it on the road, :idunno: so I sold it to Jay Ericksen and his two brothers,owners of Wells Propane,here in Northern Nevada. Seems the Co. used a :mack1: much like mine (their first truck) when they first opened,in the '50's,and Jay wants to restore mine and fit it with a tank and a matching trailer,for use in advertising,parades etc. and other special events. They're all really good people :twothumbsup: and I have no doubt they'll treat the truck well. I was glad to sell to these good people,and was paid a fair price for it. They're having the brakes completely rebuilt now,after which Jay will drive it the 50 miles to Wells,to go into their shop and undergo a full restoration. They will be saving the rear bumper/hitch and hoist for me,and plan to leave the upgraded electrics intact,with the 140 amp alternator,and will be using the drivetrain currently in it.

I told Jay he should get signed in here,as you would be an invaluable resource in the restoration process,as well as a great bunch to know. I hope you'll make him as welcome here as you've made me,and I'll still be checking in. Maybe I can find another old :mack1: within my reach financially-I feel kinda nekkid without a :mack1: . (And that's not a pretty sight!)

The sale,apart from getting the truck restored and it getting a pretty cushy ride thereafter,enabled me to pay off some bills and buy the parts to get a lot done on my other trucks and the Harley. My current projects are a new timing chain on my Chevy one ton (it failed right in front of my house)and a title and some needed parts to put the '54 GMC 2 ton on the road,as well as doing an engine swap on the '57 GMC 2 ton dump/flatbed (the locked 270 out-Chevy 292 in).

Well,gotta go eat some dinner. Drive safe!

Speed
