joh510 Posted May 26, 2011 Share Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) Have a older RD model dump mack and noticed every time it rains I get water on the floor under the dash mostly on the passenger side, where is this coming from?the vent in the front center is closed.. anyone? driving me crazy! storkmack Posted May 27, 2011 Share Posted May 27, 2011 I also have this problem, in my 94' RD. After a bath or good rain i have water on the floor under the dash on the passenger side. Have not been able to find the problem in the 7 years I have owned it. stev Posted May 27, 2011 Share Posted May 27, 2011 I have seen this kind of thing caused by leaks in the door. I found that the squeegee gasket on one door was letting water in. Check the underside of the door to see if it is also wet . . . . Lmackattack Posted May 27, 2011 Share Posted May 27, 2011 My 77' was letting water in from the cowl where the top drivers side corner of the hood had rubbed through some body sealant. It was in that little aera where the side and top of the hood meet the cab. There is a gap in the sheet metal and then sealant was used to smooth it out. This gap channeled rain to any spots with bad sealant and water could make it in and drip on the floor mat.I found this by chanc one rainy day. The best way to check it is, get someone to waterhose it down in the area and watch it under the dash.
