Awfully serious looking fire truck there! Staxx how many of those have you got so far? I see they moved the batteries and air tank to make room for CNG on the sides.

The Mack tanker is a Mack/Pierce for the Se-Wy-Co Fire Company of Lower Saucon Township, PA, near Bethlehem. It replaces a 2010 IH Workstar/Fouts Bros. 1750/3000 tanker that was destroyed

when a runaway dump truck smashed into the Leithsville fire station. The resulting fire destroyed the station and all apparatus inside. A new station is under construction.

bulldog you forgot to include that it's really for Leithsville which Se Wy Co swallowed in a hostile takeover.

Did not know that, I'm not all that familiar with PA fire departments. I know that takeovers have happened in NH when a larger fire department merges with a smaller department in the same town.

Not all of these mergers started out friendly but they have usually resulted in smoother, more coordinated operations.

The Leithsville (company 61) and Se-Wy-Co (company 18) was supposed to be a friendly merger. The fire took place 2 days after the administrative paperwork was signed by all parties. The Chief of Se Wy Co used it as an opportunity to drive the members of Leithsville out, replaced the entire board (which was supposed to have been made up from members of both organizations) with his own people, and basically swallowed up what was remaining of Leithsville. It got pretty ugly there for a while, so much so that the new station could not even get built due to court battles involving who would get the insurance money and how it would be spent. That all got hammered out, and the new station is just NOW finally getting towards the completion phase. Too bad there are no members of Leithsville left to staff it.
