I was just looking at an R model tractor with the exhaust below the frame in front of the rear wheels. My dump is like this, which makes sense to me, since it seems like the dump body can be slightly larger.

What is the benefit to a tractor configured this way opposed to the exhaust running up behind the cab, as I usually see on tractors?
