rhasler Posted September 29, 2011 Share Posted September 29, 2011 Good idea pulling it off. I had a 12 speed the owner wanted rebuilt due to whining noise at road speed. It had a 6 bolt PTO that wasn't being used that was causing the whine. The 6 bolt and 8 bolt patterns are pretty much industry standard. Allison uses a 10 bolt pattern. Clean up all surfaces and seal with silicone, a gasket may not seal against the stamped metal cover. Quote "Mebbe I'm too ugly and stupid to give up!" I will use silicone, should I use the orange red high temp RTV or use the Permetex rear end differntial gasket silicone?
