Model years are OK, but the chassis number is the real decider. I'd like to know who has the lowest chassis number out there for the different models.

Money, sex, and fire; everybody thinks everyone else is getting more than they are!

Don't forget the F's ! ! ! My F 607T is a 1963. I have yet to see an older one still on the road. First year for these was 1962.

i had a 62,,,was a pretty good ride,,cept for the unishift,,used to keep hanging up in nuetral,,and the back cab mounts,,were terrible,,,main cab beam kept on breaking

I agree, the chassis number would be nice. I have a question , for example the F model. How many did Mack build a year? And would the chassis number read like "F607T00001" for the first one?

the first of each model would be numbered 1001,example F607T1001.

I also have a '63 F model,F609ST.I'll start getting the VIN numbers rounded up.

Thank you, how many R's, U's , B's, did Mack make a year ? Has to be well under 1,000 right?

There were over 127,000 B models produced so I'd assume a bit over 1000 per year. As far as R models, I read someplace over 430,000 of those produced over 35+ years of all variants.

Remember every model designation started with 1001: B60T1001, B61T1001, B56T1001, B66T1001, B67T1001 and so on. Some models were only built in certain years. If we have a bunch of SN 1001 we should look at the delivery dates from the Mack Museum.

It is easier to have low serial numbers with fire trucks because so few were built and so many survive. I have B85F1098, 55S1039, 405A1002 and 85LS1101. The A model was the second 405 A made, but they also made a 505A, 45A, 55A and so on.

I also have H613T1001. It is the first H613 of 3 made and the only one to survive. It is a 1956.

Some other low serial numbers B66T1118, B66T1194, B46T1350, F715T1340 and R686T1243.

I saw a mack with the serial number B61T1000 on the plate on the door. It was a fake. The serial number was ground off the frame rail.

Just by the serial number of Maddog's R model , they had built about 2,000 more R609's than U's by the year 1966.

Yarnall your right, we can go by the build dates if it comes down to it. Got a quick question , whats the diff between the R607T and the R609T from the same year?

Im updating the list and makes a nice database also we can all compare to.

The R607 had a END673,the R609 had a END711.
