I hauled mill rolls to Milton, W.V. first of the week, then when I unloaded in Petersburg Wednesday I had to get a load of beams going to Jacksonville. That's in Florida. Then I picked up coiled rebar in Baldwin, Fl. -48,610 lbs.by the way- and unloaded in King George, Va. today. I pulled out of Gerdau-Ameristeel and pulled over across the road to put my wood away, because Ameristeel won't let you get on your trailer on their property (a-holes!).

A fellow driving a green Peterbilt pulling a dump trailer stopped and asked about the company I drive for, how long i'd been there, if they had good trucks, etc. I thought he was interested in a job but it turned out he'd been looking at a truck we recently traded at Truck Enterprises in Lynchburg. It was a burnt orange Peterbilt he said, probably this one-

Then he said he spotted his truck, another former F.LM. unit- a silver Peterbilt with purple fenders,550 Cat engine,3.55 rears, 18 speed trans, drop sun visor. I told him i'd driven that truck since Jeff bought it until a few weeks ago, then spent the next 15-20 minutes telling him what a great truck it was. He asked me for my phone no. so I gave him Rob's, and he left there looking as happy as a dog with 2 dicks.

Rob will have it sold in 5 minutes ha ha.

He's already bought it, they're prepping it for him now. Said they took the tanks off so they could paint them purple to match the fenders. He went to check out the orange one, but as soon as he saw ol' double nickle that was it, he had to have that one.

Jeff must not have left all the tags from different repairs attached to the keys.

I took them off and put my spare key on the ring, but I don't remember what I did with them, probably threw them away- but they might still be around. I even put the Peterbilt emblem off the key ring on my KW key.

Phone is always on and I'll expect his call(s). Bout the third time he calls for roadside assistance I'll give him the contact information of a guy in Peoria that specializes in fixing those things so they stay fixxed. I get a pretty good "kickback" on the proceeds for my services so please do pass my number along.

No worries about the stacks, boxes, or storage closets full of receipts and invoices for past repairs. As soon as I know the vin of the truck, "Momma" can recreate the paperwork for any repairs paid for by a Caterpillar affiliate and I can work with him to get the best scrap pricing available. All in the name of helping an unsuspecting, or duped guy out, you know.

I just turned the ringer up really loud cause I'd hate to miss the call.

i just cant believe what im reading. a fine outstanding fellow like other dog flat out lieing to this poor guy.i never would of thunk it. how could you other dog after all of the cold and lonely nights stranded on the road while waiting a tow in this truck you tell this guy that its a good truck. but on the other hand it does have some good qualitys. the warning/malfunction light doubles as a search light(searching for the nearest wrecker to pull it in) nice paint and rims/tires. thats about all i can think of. i think that you used to be a car salesman in a past time and in the future you stand a good chance of being a politician. lol

Actually, I even told him about all the intake valve actuator faults. He said he'd had the same problem with the 377 he was driving. I think he'll be well pleased with that truck.

I was, it was a great truck-looked good, ran good, pulled good, just had the occasional minor malfunctions.

I called Jeff last night to tell him the story and his lovely wife Teresa answered the phone. When I told her she said "tell Jeff, if you don't mind repeating it". Then I heard Jeff say "he don't mind repeating it, he loves to hear himself talk".

He was pretty impressed that it sold so quickly. The salesman had said he'd probably get fired for giving Jeff as much as he did for the truck, i'm not sure how much, but Jeff said last night "well, I guess ol' Harold won't have to worry about being fired now, because he gave me about ten thousand more than I thought the truck was worth".

How do I give Jeff a rep point for that one liner?
