Funny thing about this truck is I tried several times to purchase it back when I was dating "Momma". Shame to see it like this. I was gonna give $1750.00 for it then, and it ran and drove well.

What a low offer when it was new ha ha.

I do like he said it would be good for parts or to restore... holy crap , restore ?

He wanted double what I was willing to pay in 1977 dollars! It never has gone lower than "unrealistic".

It really was a nice truck back then and I remember it working as a secondary due to age at the time.

My brain cells were still sizzling back then. The remainders have since settled into a state of "non". I do still remember any Mack I was chasing and this one really was nice. My grandpa was just retired back then and I was gonna paint it up in Monsanto colors for him.

What would be neat is Rob buy it still and pay the same price but attach it end to end on one of his other B models. So when he goes to get the mail at the end of his driveway all he would do is drive the other Mack back home since it still has fuel tanks. I'll have to see if Otherdog will sign me up for his painting classes so I can post his famous art paintings.

Like that signal switch and the Tattler under my tree. Look good when I do my mixer...

hay rob, back when that truck was runnin and drivin was it a single axle tractor or tandem or dump truck?

Single axle with a tag. It was a B61T. Did not have the original engine but was a duplex. I'm thinking it was built with a 707, but had a 673 when I looked at it.

The same guy has this 1973 "Super R" for sale,$5000 obo.I'd sure like to see better pics, because he used the old R model cab.

We may visit my mother in law in Decatur this weekend. If we do I'll run by and snap a few photos. I used to deliver fireplaces to a vendor in Decatur, (I lived in Springfield) weekly and really wanted that B model at the time. "Momma" just thought I was nuts then.

I went by and did not see either the "R", or the B model. It was dark but neither truck was visible via my very bright spotlight. Maybe they were no longer there?
