Im new here and I've been looking to purchase a Mack Tandem Dump truck for around $30K to use in my excavating business to tow machines and haul some dirt and stone when needed for my own work. Every truck that I look at has some degree of rust between the double frame rails. Everytime I come across this it scares me away. So, it has got me wondering am I being to picky and how much rust is too much? Also, How much rust will cause a truck to fail a safety inspection and put it out of service? Thanks Al

I would think if you are looking to spend up to 30K for a tandem dumper you would be able to find something without rust in the rails. As mentioned, this goes from bad to worse only.
