Push the guides out and ensure the valve stems are in good condition as far as size and wear. I had set of 711 heads rebuilt a few years ago and had the stems and bosses machined for some "Perfect Circle" valve stem seals but I don't know their application ofr if they were generic.Rob Quote Plodding along with no job nor practical application for my existence, but still trying to fix what's broke. theakerstwo Posted January 6, 2012 Share Posted January 6, 2012 You dont need seals on thoses heads. The intake used a little hat looking cover with a o.ring under it against the stem. But many did not install that when heads were rebiult and no problem. theakerstwo Posted January 11, 2012 Share Posted January 11, 2012 You can get the guides from doing a webste sreach of valves and guides. I have seen them but dont know the name. Mack may still sell them. But i have install many in the years past and they will need reamed. Ream to fit.Even if you get a prefited guide it will need reamed.
