Should I air down my suspension while loading? Another gravel truck question...

Recommended Posts

I know that I need to air down my suspension while unloading but do I need to air down the. Suspension while loading the box on my gravel truck? The pit I am hauling from has a 6 yard bucket on their loader.

I doin't think it would matter you'll air back up reasonably quick. Then again I have only ran a few dump trailers with air ride tractors never air ride straight buckets

I've never done that, & never heard of anyone else doing it either.

As you said though, you MUST dump the air suspension when raising the dump body to unload.

Most of us with air ride have a pressure gauge in the truck that we use to get close on weight while loading....kinda hard to do if the suspension is dumped.

When approaching a 4-way stop, the vehicle with the biggest tires has the right of way!

The real question is- how good an operator is on that loader?

Does he just come up and DUMP, or does he dump slower.

leveling system is a little slow to react sometimes
