Although I agree fully with Doug's suggestion, I think a new engine with a hybrid electronics contoller to get rid of a lot of the ancillary garbage EPA requires, would be a good combination. I don't know much about getting work with an older truck but it sure be something to evaluate.

Friend of mine told me someone was putting together a Superliner with a MP engine at one of the Mack dealers in Wisc.,can't remember if he told me Madison or LaCrosse. No doubt it could be done, but it would take some $$$.If a guy could somehow get ahold of an export engine, that would be the ticket.

Boy wouldn"t it be nice if someone out there (maybe a dealer?) could start building older trucks with newer components (of course without all the EPA stuff) and sell them as older refurbished units? There's a Mopar dealer called Mr Norm doing something like this now with, I think it's the 68 Darts, he turns them into the Hurst HEMI Darts of the 60's and for a COOL 150,000 you could own one! I hope the trucks would be less then a new one

we have old cars and while they were good in there time there is some modern tech thats good, and in the car world you can get stand alone computers for all kinda swaps, so mack should offer mp 7 8 10 swaps, 450hp or 505hp in an r, good exhaust brake, yee ha. but really just think of putting a better engine in those 2000 and newer trucks, we my not be volvo fans but there here to stay so we can use there technology or keep waiting, i wouldnt pull a v8 to put in a 6 but if i were building a truck i sure would look at putting in an mp if you could get some computer help, just ideas, thanks
