Yes it is sad they are leaving the USA, but as complete trucks to go to work as that's what they were built for. Mack is a worldwide product and I am proud of that. I was in the Dominican Republic a few months ago and talking with some local truckmen they love the Macks as much as we do.

We have a generation of wastefull Americans that would rather throw it away than fix or repair it. Just my .02

Where are they getting parts for these trucks?? Thats part of the prob. that we Americans are going through Volvo has stoped Mfg. parts for the old Macks something that Mack was famous for !! Like Cat today (American owned)... you can still get parts for a U2 or a 20-A??!!

These machines were made 40+ years ago

Its sad to see them go. But as others have said its better they get a second life in a new country rather than get sent to the crusher and sent to china. At least you know the trucks are still around, just helping another country build its infrastructure.

The third world owners will keep those trucks going until they fall apart. They don't have much in those countries and they will keep the trucks in as best of shape they can. Even if a truck does fall apart, they will use it for parts instead of throwing it away like so many first countries do with their trucks. You don't throw tools away unless they are irreparable or unusable.

And its good to see the demand for Mack's is strong among third world users. This means if their country ever gets on its feet they will want to import Mack trucks. Good for business.

The two trucks we went and picked up (concrete trucks , being converted to dumps) were saved from getting exported they were all dm690s, 18 of them went to the dominican republic, and they had 6 left luckily we kept two of them in america, seller said the 18 were drove from dawsonville georgia to a miami to be shipped and not one of them hand any trouble making the trip, of course one of the ones we bought broke a rocker arm ,,, but its home now ,
