cschaeffer6 Posted February 2, 2012 Share Posted February 2, 2012 HELLO, I HAVE A `95 MACK CH613 WITH A E7-427 AND A 10 SPEED TRANS. THE TRANSMISSION BLEW APART AND I HAVE TO REMOVE IT. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO SUPPORT THE ENGINE WHEN I REMOVE THE TRANSMISSION. ALL HELP WOULD BE GREAT. Underdog Posted February 2, 2012 Share Posted February 2, 2012 I usually use a suitable ratchet strap slung under the bellhousing between the framerails. smorse54 Posted February 2, 2012 Share Posted February 2, 2012 Take some 3" or 4" channel iron and make a bracket that goes under the pan and up both sides (like a U only with square corners). Make the legs long enough so it clears the boottom of the pan. Just use a bottle jack centered under it to raise the engine. Place it as far rearward as you can. If you have any older Macks with the ESI Plus pan make the legs longer so it will work on them also. Hope you can follow me.
