New gun sales, like Ar15's and AK's im sure are flying off like most assault rifles. Same thing with home boy got elected the 1st time.

High school friend just built two from mail order vendors last month. Purchased about a thousand rounds, and several 20 and 30 round magazines for the AR-15. This is on top of the shotguns and hand guns he already has.

Forgive me, but what's the paranoia?

I think the reasons for the demand are many: First, there is a great deal of concern regarding the current administartion's anti-gun position, a concern which is exacerbated by the possibility of reelection in November. Second, the popularity of shooting and hunting continues to increase nationwide, in part thanks to industry efforts to promote the sport and make it more appealing to everyone, especially women. Advertising, innovative design, and popularity of tv shows like Top Shot and Sons of Guns all help. Finally, it is my opinion that the gun manufacturers are somewhat manipulating the supply chain to keep demand high. We're constantly being told that manufacturers are working at full capacity, but I don't believe that. If all of these guns are being produced, wHo is getting them? We deal with several distributors, including the largest and one of the smallest- no one has the guns. Just my $.02....

I went into my local gun shop yesterday to trade in a loose and scratched up paraordance(sp?) .45 I took in trade for some work I did for a guy that owed me $200.00. That is the first time I have ever had to wait in line. Guys were buying AR's so fast my guy can't keep them in stock. Usually they would gather dust around here.

I was going to be happy to get my money out of that pistol in trade on a new Glock. He slid a piece of paper across the counter with the price of a new Glock subcompact 36 chambered in .45 across the counter - $615.00. We had to communicate by paper because he knew that as soon as I left, he would sell the pistol to some guy standing there listening to us. I slid it back with $400.00 written on the paper, intending to mean that I would pay $400.00 difference between the two guns. He said okay, and ordered me a new Glock. When it came time to pay, he said I owed him $215.00, not $400.00. He thought I meant that $400.00 was what I wanted for my junky pistol! I laughed and wrote on the paper what my intention was, and that I wanted him to make some money on the deal, and he wrote back:

"Don't worry about me, if Obama gets re-elected, my profit margin will double"
