Interesting info from Mack Museum

Lots a neat history, including why the U cabs were off set. Not what I always thought but makes sense when you read it.(page10 Vinny) Paul

I don't know if they ever put the Big V8 in the Cruise-Liner.Maybe towards the end of its run in the "facelift" square-grille ones.I do remember the 325hp Maxidyne and the 375hp Thermodynes being offered(not to mention the KT-450 Cummins).Hmmmm? Anybody know?

In 79 or so,the ETCX1000 was introduced,400 hp V8,predecessor to the E9.There was a Cruiseliner on Ebay awhile back with this engine. The grille was different on thse trucks.Instead of the stamped one piece aluminum grille,it a 4 piece frame with a grille densor. These weren't the same as the facelift grille on the Macungie built Cruiseliners, totally different. There's a pic of one in the 3rd 1/4 1979 Bulldog.

Thanks Jim and Mike for the info! I hadn't got that brochure until a couple of years ago, and I can't find it. I'll have to look through my BULLDOG collection to see if I have that one( and scan the U models for Vinny!),Mike. How about the ET-1005? Was that ever produced or was it a prototype? I remember seeing that somewhere. See Vinny, never too old to learn something!!:bulldog3::twothumbsup:
