Looks like fun!! I'd certainly would have, and have done it. Puts a smile on everybody's face everytime.

Just one of the ways to enjoy the winter.

The building looks like JP Chrome's place.

I've done that in near every single car, truck, van, tractor, on anything else I've ever owned. He didn't do any powersliding, which would have been the "icing on the cake".

Its fun with cars, four wheelers, snowmobiles, but not with U models.

Don't spin to the right for obvious reasons. Not bad to the left.

Who needs "winter" to do that? I've done that in the snow, gravel, mud, grass...and in a couple of my pickups, even on dry pavement! Every vehicle I own (including my motorcycle & the Mack) has been powerslid through some slop at one point or another....

When approaching a 4-way stop, the vehicle with the biggest tires has the right of way!

Me too. It's a standard issue type thing. "Yard Jobs", smoke shows, power slides etc. was all the norm.

Man, and I thought ya did everything like that. Ya got to torture test this stuff to see if it will hold up when the going gets tough. I recall at the Ford Assembly Plant we saw the Mustangs come off the line. Those guys floorboarded them inside the plant with black smoke rolling out the tires. I was told that they had rather the cars blowup at the plant than when the customer recieved it. Vinny I bet your Mack was tested the same way. They also let the U Models fall over on their side to see if they would stand up to the test.

Powersliding is a good thing though how about peanuts in divider?

I sell interaxle diffs for Mercedes G instantly to guys who like a smoke of tyres on a asphalt.

Vinny,

When you get your ticket the first thing you need to do after the first snow is go to a big empty parking lot and make whatever you are driving spin in every direction you can until you learn how to make it stop. I did this and I did it with my kids when they started driving. Makes you a much better driver. And it sure is fun!

Money, sex, and fire; everybody thinks everyone else is getting more than they are!

I'll bet. Stupidity will break anything. I'd be willing to wager you don't sell a lot of those parts to owner/operators however. We have the same scenarios here where the hired hands don't take care of equipment as they would rather be out of a job; But it's not their fault when they're fired.

Of course a car is not a truck and a number of stupidity is less in professional service.

Though I'm selling parts for a kind of a car that has 3 diffs with 3 diff locks.

Too hard for a common brain to use it all correctly. Especially combining with 300hp engine.

I also broke a diff one time but going deep inside a mud with oversize tyres by the way of an off-road trophy.

So I keep clear all about common diffs though met an unknown beast with a name of Power divider.

The fact of settling my R-model all the wheels in a clay after the winter heats my interest to keep the drive train unbroken.

Hi Vlad, we see a lot of the same things over here with professional drivers, and then not so professional. I too have seen several broken differentials, transfer cases, gearsets etc. and it's just plain expensive to repair this type of damage. "Mud bogging" is very popular over here and several drivelines are broken or compromised in this so called "sport". The same thing happens a lot in car racing also. Noting wrong with any of that if the owner is willing to accept the risk and expense of broken parts.

I can see from your post you and I have a lot of the same thoughts as far as a little common sense goes a long way. I don't "hammer" the throttle to use every bit of engine horsepower available when I start out, nor do I abuse a vehicle due to lack of respect. I would much rather get home without trouble than lessen my workday by 10 minutes and in the process save fuel, repair time, and expense doing so.

Typical differential "fail".................(well maybe more like a lack of welding skills)

Well, okay, maybe not a truck, but a good one none the less.

I can remember way back when I was young, late in the winters evening, finding a big church parking lot and going at it with my ol pickup truck. I won't say I abused it, just had fun. There is a difference.

Glad to read a common sence in your words, Rob.

Yes, we have the same opinion because working the same field.

I'm not a professional trucker, my business is a workshop for disassembling Mercedes and selling used parts.

We providing complicated repairs like gears setting or just changing units.

I can be free (still) of general repairs and it makes me possible keeping a little shop with 3-5 persons only.

Growing a business is not an easy thing on the territory of ex-USSR.

I like old iron and like people who doing the same way.

Restoring of Mack trucks is a dreamy thing for me, I had a chance to provide it in just last 2 years.

I can't imagine the only thing how you can keep so great attention as moderating of the site?

Suppose, you have to give a great value of time and this must be not a hobby for you.

About "hot cowboys" - just have red about changing front springs separately...
