These were called "steering rigs" by hotwheels introduced in the late seventies,early eighties,in addition to the U-model,there were also a GMC General,LTL and CL-9000 Ford,and of course the "brand-x" peterbilt and KW............as you prolly guessed,these command quite a price with collectors nowadays. The Mack is especially hard to find in good condition,i lucked out with mine,got it at a yard sale...........................Mark

Ive got a collection of 70's Matchbox cars that ive gotten from flea markets, my great grandma, and my stepdad gave me all his old Matchboxes he had when he was a kid.

wow lucky you,,,they were all cool in those days,,,my wife bought me my dream car in matchbox for christmas,,,couple years ago..64 galaxy 500,its hanging on the kitchen wall,thats probably the closest ill get to one lol,,,i remember when you could buy them all day long for like hundred bucks.bob

I think my Papa had a Galaxy 500. I dont know why because hes a MOPAR guy. Sold it a long time ago.
