They set that truck up to haul recycled cement from the leftover concrete that gets dumped out. Its a puddy like material. They liked the truck so much when it was done they didnt want to use it. They figured having that tub body would help the stuff slide out. Great pic though!

That is a sweet looking truck with that body!

The truck is in awesome shape! There is barely any rust on it at all. I think it only needs paint and back on the road.

The truck was triaxel with a different body. It never saw a load with that setup.

My dad says that was the exact truck, body and everything. He hated that truck when he got done.

I'm just going from what he says. It took him a week.

Boy, not a lot of room for a third axle.

When he changed the bell housing they had to take the lift axle off before they could even start anything. He said half of the trans was stuffed in the lift axle.

Alot of the oldtime guys said they ran those horizontal mixers in Bridgeport alot longer than anyone else because of the low bridges in Bridgeport.

That truck didnt see alot of use either. They ran mostly dumptrailers when they bought it. It never had an assigned driver.

So they had 2 with fruehauf bodies?

Yeah but those are trailer dumps right? I'm talking about triaxles.

Matt

Oh....One other B83, I dont what the DMs had for bodys. The bodys are long gone. They're just rolling chassis's now. I never asked about them. Good question........
