Back in the "old days"- 70-90's- IMO if you were buying tanks, IMO it was either a Fruehauf or a Heil, just a matter of who was the hungriest for the  business.

And Fruehaufs?  Factory branches all over the place.

Fruehauf dump trailers were a very good investment.  There was something about the look of them too, they always seemed to just look right or something.  Good memories .

Not too familiar with them fruehauf most everything out here is double or triple belly dumps and that DM never gets old by the way… bob

Funny thing I drove for Fedex 18 years and I never have notice what kind of boxes they used to buy never really paid any attention.

Till they wore out and " Hinge " them self's .....also hard pulling wind reticence with rib's....

Used to have a place here that would do tiny bends on sheets of 6061T6 to overlay the radius and meet in the middle of the floor. Added some weight, but avoided that from happening.  They were quite the piece in their era, and it's still not too difficult to see several still in service. Late '80s I remember bringing used dump bodies back from Connecticut (Fruehaufs) . They were all numbered with QX numbers and around 18 feet long.  I don't think the body, hoist and subframe weighed 5000 pounds.

I have a 1970 24-ft with several floor's  and original equilizer still in it I've change the spring's 4-time's ......but the latch assembly is shot ......good for couple loads a day only ......no crushed rib's

That  '70 probably still has the air chamber for each side.  I only had 3 over the years. Two aluminum, one steel, I loved them.

somewhere in one of the many boxes from moving I've still  have  the fruehauf  1/25th scale  trailer dump built /painted gold  /hooked to the R600 resembling  actual truck owned by Stone construction ;southbury Ct.

I was honored to meet Brian Krois (author of connecticut construction trucks) at a diner recently . real nice guy. I busted him about volume two ; he laughed. was on his way to Bethlehem to see Matt P.

Bought it for 12-K .....sold it for 25-K ran it 3-year's  .....?

I had a 75 dm600 237 triaxle like 35 years ago. I think probably one of the best dump trucks ever made. Even when it was beat to death, it was still reliable as hell
