All because Mack corporate didn't put them in the Calendar and put Hi-Ho on front cover...........Childishness ?

I agree in terms of childishness 'BUT  considering a calendar picture is good company (free) advertising. the "back stab" came mainly due to Hi-Ho being a same state competitor .possibly a fleet cross country picture wouldn't have been as bad.  for the day when a company buys 20 plus trucks it was no small deal. both O&G /Hi-Ho purchased a large fleet. not just a basic tractor but dumps. being involved with first DM delivery order (#356==376) , I  definitely would liked to see all Mack fleet.

am I reading this correctly ? O&G also bought Rawson ! funny story from years back, O&G were on the prowl buying every concrete co around, one of the son's went to buy a small local concrete co only to find out his brother had already bought it . keeping with rules and regs. many of the companies they bought were "on paper buys" most kept original co name on units. others just closed.

Well sooner or later the material in close to major population centers runs out.

Boston Sand now runs trains from the Ossipee Region of NH. Huge pit a mile from my house is now a huge solar field..nice one as it is completly out of view.  Trucks are running Rt 2 all the time now to pits on northern border.

In  my "youth" Rice had the pits all along Washington Ave from the center of North Haven to the P & W plant.

Pretty soon the environmental loons on the Cape if they don't change their "Beach Nourishment" bullshit will have trailer dumps running off cape to  get sand.

O&G put in a sand rail site were the old Hi-Ho / O&G asphalt plant in Milford to off load rail car's to feed Fairfield county sinking Million's on car's and a elaborate conveyor  system with bin's .......still trucking sand though not paying the bill's ?

Would that be the Beard site on rt.1?
