Did I hear that right?

In preparation for gastric bypass surgery (which coincidentally is tomorrow) I gave up carbonated beverages over 2 months ago, which I thought would be tough for me, as I never drank coffee in my life. My morning beverage was a 16oz bottle of Coke or Dr. Pepper. It was tough in the very beginning but now I am over it, and have lost close to 30 lbs.

The message I got from "Supersize Me" was not that McDonald's food was loaded with fat and bad carbs, I already knew that. What I learned is that a steady diet of unhealthful food will soon begin to take it's toll on your body..wait a second, I knew that too. What was that guy's point?

IIRC, Mickey D's had no comment on the film. Smart PR move, IMO.

they dont even say that, anymore,,,you simply say large if you wish to bump up the sizes.....bob

I have all but given up carbonated beverages, but I've been drinking Diet Pepsi for years, so my weight loss results have not been nearly as impressive.

Best Wishes for a speedy recovery.

I just was wondering how your surgery went - I hope it went well!

Congratulations for taking charge of your health - you have to stay around a long time in case I am digging in a barn and find a pristine FWD!

Hope the surgery went well and a speedy recovery.

I drank my first Coke in nine months over the weekend. Surprised I didn't even miss them and I used to put down about four per day.

Can't seem to lose any weight though.
