Hey guys I don't know exactly where this would go, but if its not in the right spot can someone move it. Im looking for a 1950s? round nose reefer trailer. Any shape is fine. Gonna eventually tow it behind my 59' mack. If you have one, let me know.

Oh damn!! Thats exactly what I'm looking for! Any idea where i could find that "putt putt" motor for the reefer?

Pretty much anywhere, most of them were just your garden variety Briggs&Stratton lawnmower engines, all they did was use a small fan to circulate cool air throughout the trailer which was provided by blocks of ice,or "blown-in" ice (small chips) this type set-up is what my dad started on many years ago,he said sometimes they'd go through 8-1200 pounds of ice between Jersey and Florida with a load of produce on!....................................Mark

Back in the late 1950's as a young teenager I worked part of one summer with my next-door-neighbor's son at his Dad's Icehouse. We spent every day unloading wooden baskets/hampers of various vegetables off of trailers, opening the basket tops and putting a scoop of crushed ice on the turnip greens, other produce, etc. and reloading them back on the trailer.

I sure slept well at night....
