I won't get into trying to lengthen the B front end via sectioning. Forget it. Might be interesting in firewall work. BOB DINGSDALE Posted June 3, 2012 Share Posted June 3, 2012 they might fit into a B87 front end.frame is wide enough because we had them in 34in frame rails.you wouldn't be able to mount anything on timing cover .compressor,altinater,steering pump would all have to be belt driven.we had two compressors on our trucks one driven off u joint flange at rear of flywheel but we had remote mounted auto trans.but remember these are 3300 lbs dry weight.you might have extend rad but on one of the big B87s I don't think that would look out of place.put 90 injectors in and burn tires.Bob D 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
j hancock Posted June 3, 2012 Share Posted June 3, 2012 If you are a DD fan and a Mack fan, I would offer the suggestion to get a R700 and put the V-12 in. The factory made a few.A V-12 in a B would require a stretched hood at a minimum. You would also need the cast aluminum radiator to have a chance in hell to get the width. So now you are custom making EVERYTHING!!Motor mounts, trans mounts, engineering a clutch linkage, relocating fuel tanks, upgrading to stiffer front springs.Lots of stuff to consider.
