Hi !

need to have some advise on shifting a Mack 12 speed tranny .

many people are saying .

1- push clutch

2- pull stick on 1st direct

3- release clutch

4- apply fuel pedal

5- push knob on HI

6- release fuel pedal

7-push clutch

8- release clutch

9- apply fuel pedal again

10- push clutch

11- pull out stick from 1st to neutral and push knob back to direct

12-release clutch

13- push clutch

14- push stick in 2nd

15-release clutch

16- apply fuel pedal again

17- repeat process for each gear

then some goes :

1- push clutch

2- pull stick on 1st direct

3- release clutch

4- apply fuel pedal

5- push knob on HI

6- release fuel pedal

7- apply fuel pedal again

8- push clutch

9- pull out stick from 1st to neutral and push knob back to direct

10-release clutch

11- push clutch

12- push stick in 2nd

13-release clutch

14- apply fuel pedal again

15- repeat process for each gear

then some others goes :

1- push clutch

2- pull stick on 1st direct

3- release clutch

4- apply fuel pedal

5- push knob on HI

6- release fuel pedal

7-push clutch

8- pull out stick from 1st to neutral then in first again

9- release clutch

10- apply fuel pedal again

11- push clutch

12- pull out stick from 1st to neutral and push knob back to direct

13-release clutch

14- push clutch

15- push stick in 2nd

16-release clutch

17- apply fuel pedal again

18- repeat process for each gear

Makniac , collector and customizer of die-cast model in 1/50th scale

trannies are some of the easiest to drive. I'm not sure I've driven that particular version, but if it's an 8 speed, you'll have a 4 speed H pattern. What you'll do is put the selector in Low, the run through the gears, 1-4. After reaching 4, put the selector in High and shift back to 1, which now becomes 5. Run through 1-4 again, these now become 5-8. To downshift, reverse the sequence.With this tranny it sounds like you'll have 4 reverse gears too. To back up, select ® on the shifter, then select the appropriate gear. Avoid selecting (N) with the clutch released, you'll have a tough time getting back in gear without shutting the truck down.
