Today I had to go to Fredrick MD for a 65 Ford Thunderbird and a 94 Dodge Stealth. Nice lady in the rolling hills of Maryland. The back roads were a bit hilly and narrow. I got a shot in her driveway loaded up, then one going down the road. After I took the shot, the right side trailer tires went off the pavement and I thought its best to stop taking pictures with the phone, or at least until I have more road to play with. Great roads for a motorcycle but not too great for 60' of truck and trailer. I have to say, I really miss our dually. This 3/4 ton Avalanche (8.1L big block) is a little short more my tastes but it handles it.

On 95 North on the way back, somewhere around Rising Sun this fool was on one of the cheap Chinese 150cc scooters holding up the slow lane at 50mph. That's a speedbump waiting to happen.

Saturday I am delivering a 68 Chevelle to Cape Cod so I hope to bring my point and shoot camera for the ease of picture taking. I'll post those here as well.

Oh and I have to say, I never realized how many R and U Macks are still in use on the highways. I must have seen at least 6 R's today and a couple U's (two on the road, one parked at a shop off 295 in NJ). Sorry I wasn't able to get pictures. By the time I had the camera set on the phone, it was too late.

Trailer brakes work better then the trucks brakes. Panic stops are a bit fun. This truck we usually use with the single trailer or the 24' enclosed. Since we are between 1 tons it has to do. With the load bars it's actually a pretty good ride but as I said stopping I need some distance.

It's 4:18 am and I am about to head out to Cape Cod. The wife is coming for the day trip so she can hopefully take a few more pictures of stuff. She's not happy about this ungodly hour but I'll be there before noon. I'll post pictures tonight or tomorrow.

Just got back from my Cape Cod trip. That's a long day. I give you OTR drivers a lot of credit. 13+ hours and 600+ miles a day beats the hell out of you. The heavy rain and morons do not help either. I've done trips like this in the past (Erie pa and also Youngstown ohio and back in a day) but this one was extra tiring.

I'll post some interesting pics in the next day or two. I found a B Mack dump behind a house where there was a trucking company and scrap sign in Falmouth Mass. My guess it's a B61. I stopped and took a picture as there was an older guy pulling into the driveway. He must have been wondering what the heck I was doing taking a picture of his house. Lol.

Somewhere in CT I decided to eat a flaky pastry while driving, which went all over the front of me. My wife was hysterical and had to take a picture:

About 2 miles from my delivery point, I came to a stop sign. I looked to the left because I had seen a sign that said trucking and scrap. You never know if there's an old car laying back there. Well, this is what was in the driveway.

I was going to take a couple shots of the Chevelle coming out of the trailer and in the guys driveway but ADT called my wife's cell tell us the house alarm was going off and the police were going to check it out. She was a bit freaked out so no pictures dropping off but here is a picture of the car from our website:

On the way back in we hit the storms and found this Topkick with a C60 on the back. The back two chains were still a little loose. I made sure I put some distance between me and this guy.

We stopped for fuel at one point and when I started the truck up again, the battery was low and barely started. I had to leave the truck running any time we stopped so we didn't get stuck. Worst time for the battery to fail 300 miles from home. We got back to the shop at 7:30pm and parked the truck. I tried it again just to see if it would restart and it was done. Good thing it had a strong alternator.

Oh, when we got home we found one of the cats chewed the alarm wire for the sliding door, which set it off. The whole trip back my wife Sandy was wondering what would have set the alarm off. Was it someone breaking in? A malfunction? Thunder? - Nope... cats. Probably the kitten or the Momma since she is still young too and is always gnawing on something.

Awesome shots! Glad everything went smoothly! I bet that flakey pastry was yummy! LOL Nice B model dump too!

Like that Chevelle too. I had a '70 Chevelle SS, it was dark green with white stripes, 396/350, which is the 402 engine. Wish I had a picture of it, I have none. It was bored .030 over, had an Edelbrock Tarantula intake, so the carb. sat like it was twisted a quarter turn clockwise, 780 Holly carb, Crane cam, headers, M22 Muncie 4 speed. I only took it to the track once, and turned a 14.30 at 101 mph. Not very impressive numbers, but - the all important "but"- that was with G70 rear tires. They were really skinny, I was spinning the tires into high gear. The guy I bought it from ran high 13's with an automatic in it, also with street tires. He wanted to keep the trans. to put in a Blazer he was building for sand drags, so I went to a junk yard and bought all the clutch linkage, pedal, etc. I already had the transmission and a good bellhousing.

I sold it after I got married the first time, and bought a Pontiac Tempest, with a 3 speed on the column.

Here's a picture I "borrowed" from H.K.Trucking. This is the 427 Corvette engine in Herb's '69 Chevelle, but it looks just like mines did, same intake, breather, coil, etc. I did have different valve covers, I had the smooth chrome ones.

I'm not gonna post it until I get permission from Herb though, so don't say anything...

Producer of poorly photo-chopped pictures since 1999.
