This pops up alot, usually when taking off from low in the low rpm range, under 1200 mostly, sometimes when I let off the throttle and the engine brake kicks in at higher rpms, seldom but once in a while out of the blue while running a steady highway rpm. It comes on active then goes right to inactive, I push enter and it;s gone. Before going to the dealer I would like a little education on what/where it is and why this code keeps going off. Thanks in advance

Variable Geometry Turbo position sensor, thats is the sensor that tells the computer what position the sliding nozzle in your turbo is in, Im guessing this is on an AC engine but none the less it means the little electronic box on your turbo has an issue or your turbo is acting a fool either way it sounds like a turbo swap in your future (unless they are swapping the control modules seperately now)

Thanks Superdog, I have to get this checked into soon. Need to check to see if it's a exchangable controll box. The turbo is fairly new. There is a rig on it that looks to be vacume controlled that pushes a rod in and out, it had a leaking diafram when I bought it, they just changed the diafram, maybe the unit is bad? It is an AC engine.

Not the green wire connection that would be your turbo wheel speed sensor the rectangle connector wire wire lock is the one your looking for.

That could be it, cheap fix too. I'll check into it tomorrow. Thanks

Also if you leave key on air psi at 120 engine off and wiggle the connection if it is making intermitatin connection you should here the vgt controler on the other side of engine apply and exhast air psi to turbo , if you are not sure what the vgt controler is follow the air line from turbo to the other side it is connected to other end.

10/4, will do, thanks
