tilynb61 Posted August 13, 2012 Share Posted August 13, 2012 I am looking to possibly change the engine in my 58 B61. It is the original END673 with a 10 speed Duplex. Engine is a bit tired, runs ok but lots of blowby, and it looks like some of the parts like the old 18 bolt head gaskets and pistons are a bit hard to find or I would just rebuild it myself. I have been reading all the info I can find on here on the swap, think I have a good idea of whats involved in swapping to a ENDT675. I have found an engine out of an older 60's MB600, wondering if there is any difference being its out of a cabover? Turbo location possibly? Any advice would be appreciated. Personally, if I'm fixing to swap an engine into something, it's gonna have two strokes. mackmb212 Posted August 30, 2012 Share Posted August 30, 2012 Yes the turbo is mounted alot lower on the mb and the piping from the turbo is a little more low profile for cab clearance.
