WOW, VERY NICE Bob, All I remember as a kid is hearing the Sterling chain drive dump trucks and cement mixers around here coming from a mile away. That was what I think of as a Sterling. What is this all about today, trucks with the Sterling name on them, I don't get it? Paul

More great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Paul, When Mercedes bought the heavy truck division from Ford (Louisvilles), they had to change the name. The Sterling name wasn't protected so they just started using it. I believe that new company has since been closed down. The smaller trucks with the Sterling name that look like Dodge pickups are just that, a Dodge. Mercedes owned Chrysler at the time and moved trucks from one division to another.

I love pics of old hard core work trucks, they havent made anything like that in a long time and I havent driven anything like that ever but I want too one day, maybe I can find an old B85 dump somewhere hiding in the weeds and fix it up that would be sweet. thanks for the pics.

There is one of those Sterling tandem dump trucks right here in Jersey with a Cummins Diesel, the truck is owned by Amaducie (I don't think I spelled his name right) over in Booton NJ, he also has a couple of nice A-Cars that he brings to the shows

Of course,by saying "smaller",you're really saying "LESS HUGE"...
