met this nice ole guy that was cleaning out the slop oil from a tank battery that I was hauling from, he said the truck has 60k Rockwell (or maybe Hendrickson) axles with a 5 and a 4 tranny. He said the truck weighs about 50k empty and top speed is about 54mph.

I came across this wooden oil drilling rig abandoned in a field near a tank battery. I thought it was pretty cool to think that technology wise we were drilling with wooden rigs to keep the new modern car fueled with gas.

The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by the people who vote for a living.

The government can only "give" someone what they first take from another.

Nice!!! I moved a wood drill rig in Pa along those lines based on a REO truck chassis, awesome technology for the day. Thanks for posting pics. Paul

Very nice wooden drilling rig.

Haven't ever seen anything like this.

Any ideas of the age?

Macks are nice-looking stuff also.

I dont know for sure Vlad a guess would be 30's or 40's? There is an old refinery in the area that was opened in the 30's I've been told.
