Cuts the time used raising and lowering the landing gear to move the trailer in the lot. Apple dog Posted October 4, 2012 Share Posted October 4, 2012 Some of them have wheel that extend out to the side to make them more stable when a trailer is raised in the air. Sometimes used to dump a flatbed with a side kit that has a load of apples. I have also seen them used to lift hopper bottoms to run apples in bins. Quote This is Mack country. BOB DINGSDALE Posted October 4, 2012 Share Posted October 4, 2012 they were also used on wood chip trailers,gravel trailers,etc. for dumping trailer.they worked untill they brought out taking whole truck and trailer up on hyd ramp.they were advertised in late 40s early 50s with LJ macks as the truck.
