hicrop10 Posted October 21, 2012 Share Posted October 21, 2012 John,that pic you posted of our old #20 tractor is the one in the pic with the shovel on the trailer.That # 20 was a 1958 model B87,it started out with a 300 cummins but was upgraded to 335.It had 60,000 rears.It has a concaved cab on it now.The original cab was replaced many years ago.With that cab on it,it made driving it somewhat of a hard time for us guys over 5' tall. Mack was in the front discharge mixer market until v#&*( hit the kill switch. Also hit the kill switch on Mack marineengines.So much more could be done for Mack. What a shame. hicrop10 Posted November 10, 2012 Share Posted November 10, 2012 They are going out of the paving business and staying with the turf field business.I am told they are doing turf fields all over the area.They won't be the only ones going out this year,from what I can see the work load hasn't changed it still going for less then it worth.Main reason me and my two brothers gave it up 6years ago,why spend a dollar to do a job when you are going to get paid 90cents.In the excavating business you have all the risks and no rewards for your troubles.
