Too much sensationalism on TV (including the Weather Channel). So I don't watch TV and spend most of my time on the interweb (researching Mack trucks, JD tractors, and MOPARS) and maybe some porn.

I sometimes go weeks without watching tv. My wife sets the dvr for Modern Family (funny show) and Boardwalk Empire (awesome show), and we'll sit down when we have a few hours and watch it like a marathon. Aside form that and certain sports games, I use the computer as my source of news, entertainment, and maybe some porn.

I have to agree with your tv choices, but I'm addicted to American hotrod. I know it has its somewhat a drama, but where I'm from there's not allot of talent around here, you can go to a car or truck show and see vehicles with trophy's that have been paint with spray cans, tubing and wiring, that are neon, and everyone around but a few, doesn't understand what talent looks like. Not many around here has ever heard of soda blasting or acid dipping. Custom interior is camo seat covers. To watch a show with these talents, is so refreshing. The first time i saw Matt Pfahl's restored procter b81 at Mcgungie , I just stood there in awe. I just looked at it for 30 mins taking all the detail in. Till that time. I had never seen a "new" b model.

Quit busting balls, the show is not geared towards us diehard trucking fans. Rob is doing what we all should be doing, and that is getting new people interested in classic trucks and the trucking industry, how else can you do that nowadays without being a little over the top, my sons and daughter like it and it has got them interested in trucks and going to events. Hell even my mom in law has watched and enjoyed it.

I am also sure that restoring the EK Mack is costing a lot of money and it will be well worth it seeing it an an event, its obviously not the statute of Liberty but he was an Icon and legend. Who else has done anything that is even comparable? I have seen Joey Chitwood events and although cool does not compare.

All I can say is WOW! I had thought maybe the guy from E. St. Louis,Ill.,that used to advertise in OVERDRIVE did the interior. Very cool footage.Nice that the guy thought of filming it for all us to see 40 years later! Thanks 2stack for posting it! :bulldog1:

No kiddin',Mike! I've got an OVERDRIVE with that in it,somewhere! John Fischer was about one of the last people to get interior panels made for his F model,by the guy.

The mans last name was Murphy and I think his first name was Gene.... It was my opinion as soon as I saw it that he had sewn it. He used to be at the Skelly Truck Stop in E Saint Louis.

He had the patterns for most makes and models of trucks(except the time that I needed it for a Marmon) and would UPS most interiors in a couple of days.

His trademark was to use a different color piping on all of his upholstery

I ordered interiors from him for many of my F's and R's Models as well as other many other makes of trucks.

He and I had a lot of discussions, with me trying to convince him that I wanted the same color piping as the interior color, lots of times with no success

His display vehicle was an F Model cab.

Sorry.... I hadn't seen your reply to this thread when I replied.

Starting in the early 70's and thru the years I'll bet I probably bought 50 sets of interior and was most always satisfied with the craftsmanship, except for his insistence on using a different color piping around the edges

He had a guy who ran the shop in the late 70's early 80's named Jimmy who definitely wasn't a people person.

The first kit was for an F Model and after that I put it in most every F model that I owned and I feel pretty certain that they did the Evel Knievel F Model also.

We had an owner-operator at Atlas who had his GMC Astro upholstered there, beautiful job! there was'nt much in an Astro to start with,i believe he even used the truck in some ads in Overdrive, its easy to spot,as the Astro had that distinctive "tunnel" so you could see down in the peep window in the pass. side door............................................Mark

The Sky Cycle even had MACK on the tail.........................all the way down to the Snake River! Who knows Mark, maybe MACK didn't want to be associated that kind of entertainment? Al
