Looking for the two position head light switch for my 47 85LS fire engine. The knob is a brownish mahogany in color with the word LIGHTS engraved in it. Trying to keep the knob the same as the others. Knob appears to be glued onto the rod, so looking for new or idea to get old knob onto new switch.

It is not terribly hard to take the switch apart. Usually there are four brass tabs that close the switch up; carefully pry them up and pull the phenolic plate off. Be careful there is probably a small spring in there. From there you can either replace the contacts with a board from a new switch or just clean the old contacts.
