:SMOKIE-RT: Hello Mack world.

I am new to this site and it is great .

Just wondering if anyone has an idea on the 400 V8

i have just purchased 1985 Superliner with no jake or dynatard.

Do they have them for this truck ?

If so wher can i find it and how hard are they to put on

The truck also has no muffler and under a load it sounds like a flutter or a miss

any Idea's Thanks Scott

the E9 (V8) had a engine brake set up option. not shure if they are still availible from mack?

The V8s have a diffrent exhaust note than the 6 cyls and yes they do sound like they are miss fireing. I never liked the flutter sound but many others do. If you dont have a vibration im shure its running fine. The one thing I do like about them E9s is the power that they had. Compared to todays engines a good running E9 can still pull with the best of them. I belive in the US 500HP was the highest rated E9 availible. over in the out back they had higher HP ratings so if your still not happy at 400HP you could easly squeez some more power out of your "de-tuned" 400HP E9
