cfd511 Posted November 10, 2012 Share Posted November 10, 2012 (edited) hey all i have a 1969 mack r 600 with 237 6 wheel dump truck. the cab had alot of rust underneath and i want to replace the cab. what is the highest year cab i can put on that year frame . and what style caband model had the most room also that will bolt on to my year frame . also with the newer years will i have to change the hood. while I'm blabbing away anyone know where to get power steering for my year truck thanks Edited November 10, 2012 by cfd511 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Superdog Posted November 10, 2012 Share Posted November 10, 2012 I've never done it myself,but have seen many newer cabs put on older R models.You should be safe using up to a mid '80's cab.You shouldn't have to change your hood.Like any changes,there will be some slight adjusting and modifying required Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Maddog13407 Posted November 10, 2012 Share Posted November 10, 2012 yup, late 80's early 90' will fit. you will have to change the front frame mounts to put a newer cab on as the newer cabs have the trunion mount and the older ones have the flat buscuit mount like a B model. also may have to modify the throttle linkage as the early R models had it bolted to the cab and the newer ones are usually mounted to the back of the engine.
