I recently brought a 1985 DMV686S that had not run for about 6 years. After replacing the fuel filters and and the diesel fuel I manage to start the engine (M6). The only problem was that the engine was racing to high and I couldn't shut it off, throttle down, or throttle to shut off the fuel to the pump. Is there something I can do to correct this or do I have to remove the pump. If so is that a difficult process?
