I looked at a U-model in Ambridge Tuesday. I posted pictures of it before, but this time I got the interior and even the cereal number!

They have a V8 R-model too.

Saw a Brockway and a bulldozer in the Tractor House.

The goats were way up on top of the hill.

Smoke from the power plant at Mt. Storm way over yonder.

Now i'm over yonder too. They're building a new 4 lane highway across there, but it isn't finished. You have to exit at the bottom of the hill in the first picture, and it's 27 miles over to Mount Storm from the top of the mountain where I took the first picture over to the top of the mountain near the power plant.

Construction on the new road. This is over near Mt. Storm, at the top of the mountain, a 5 mile 10% down grade to Scherr,W.V. Unless you're going the other way, then it would be uphill.

Going down the mountain.

4 wheeler passing me...

big truck passing me

An old truck over there

Some hard climbs here- had 5 steel coils on,48,000+ lbs.

Lake's drawn down pretty low.

And this time, I really did see a woman hitchhiking! She looked nothing like this one however...

post-1374-0-68394800-1354364490_thumb.jp

She was on rt. 51 south of Pittsburgh, and I was going the same direction. She was not bad looking at all- 40-ish, long black hair, black shirt, sweat pants, big hoop ear rings. And I didn't get a picture! I know the rules- if you don't get a picture it didn't really happen...but I saw her. I did.

Here's a picture of a big Christmas tree on top of a building in Charleston, W.V. It was about 2am when I took this, completely dark, it didn't come out at all, but it still looked kind of neat, so I didn't delete it.

Guess i'll shave now, no shave November is over...

...and those conspiracy theory people might be on to something!

Thank you, interesting as usual.

I like that hilly mountain land shots.

How did those vehicles passed you crossing two yellow lines?

sure did- 4 wheelers do it all the time, kind of rare to see another truck do it.

It's nice that you got the cereal number on the U model, but did the numbers match?

I sure do miss that drive from Oakland to Petersburg via Mt. Storm, In decent weather of course!

I take it that's Rt 55 under construction? The last time I was on it the four-lane was complete from east of Moorefield over to Baker.

I've stopped at the Kac Ka Pon Restaurant and Wardensville a few times. Great food with truck parking.

Yes, it's the same superhighway, but from Moorefield west it's rt. 48, 55 still exits at Moorefield and follows 220 to Petersburg where they split again. It's finished over the mountain from Moorefield now, trucks have to exit at Patterson Creek Road and run that down to rt. 42. It ends now at some little road that brings you out in Maysville. I've been across it coming east because there's no truck restriction coming that way. It's a skinny crooked little road, but it's only 3 or 4 miles from Maysville up to the new road. It'll be nice when they open the new road all the way to Mount Storm.

Were they real?

Uhhh...i've forgotten that rule- is it "if you can see them, they are real" or is it "if you can touch them, they are real''?

Rt 55 still runs all the way from Gainesville VA to just north of Summersville WV. The part from Wardensville WV to Moorefield WV Rt 55 is the 2 lane road that crosses back and forth Rt 48. For some reason at interstate 81 Virginia calls Rt 55, Rt 48 also. You took some good pictures. The picture to the right of the 4 wheeler passing you is the glass house it is about the half way point on Scherr. It has a lot of glass in it almost like a greenhouse. One day when I got to the top of Scherr it started raining, sleeting, snowing, hail, thunder and lighting all at the same time and in a half hour there was 6 inches of snow on the road.

This is Mack country. On a quiet night you can hear a peterbilt rust away.
