I was listening to the news radio in my truck around 12 noon today when I heard that a principal of a school in CT was shot and killed, then I went in to have lunch with a customer, got back in my truck and saw that I missed my wifes call so I called her back and she told the update, I had to pull over and pull myself together! I just kept thinking about the parents! What a sad day in America. My prayers are with all of the ones lost and injured, and esp. the parents

Sad thing but the media and your elected officials are already calling for federal gun control laws, never mind that the gun didnt do anything it was not designed to do, it was used by a person to fire a bullet and hit a target, the fact that a piece of shit used it to shoot kids at a school doesnt change that fact but if this keeps up obammy and clinton are gonna get their way and we are going to all be screwed and unable to defend ourselves. I know I may be the only person that looks at it like this but hey someone has to see that the issue is not that guns are bad the issue is that people that use guns to kill other people for no reason at all are bad. I just cant stop thinking to myself after all of the shootings in the media over the past few years, that all happened at places that it is illegal to carry a gun or in a state that does not allow handgun carry, if there had been one person there with a carry permit and that person had their pistol and they shot the "shooter" before they killed all those people who would be the bad guy then?

I'm with Archie Bunker on this one. If everyone had a gun,crime would end. If anyone in that school had a gun on them, I guarantee the shooting spree would've been much shorter.

Don't make this tragedy an NRA soapbox, nor allow it to scare people into thinking that guns are what caused this.

I'm thankful everyday that I'm doing well enough for my wife to be a stay at home mom who homeschools our children.

Scary thing is, the blood hasn't even dried yet and we have folks on the left crying about the need for more gun control....using tragedy to tug at the emotions of otherwise rational people in order to further their anti-freedom agenda. Funny thing is, though, if their version of "gun control" were effective, there would be no school shootings because schools have allegedly been "gun free zones" for quite a few years. I refuse to accept the premise that these sick fuckers who commit these attrocious acts of cowardly violence are mentally ill....they seem to have the presence of mind to select a location which renders their victims defenseless....schools.....malls....movie theaters.....public places where firearms are generally prohibited either by law or by the property owner. I'm not saying everyone should be armed....just that it is foolish to think that society is safer when the law abiding citizens are disarmed. Shit, in this case the gutless motherfucker attacked a bunch of kids. He didn't NEED to use a gun...he didn't NEED to use ANY weapon. He executed women and children...doesn't get much more pathetic than that.

Anyway, the more I think about it, the more pissed off I'm getting. I really wish the media would stop making these animals infamous. Don't print or broadcast the perpetrator's name, image, or anything else. We seem to live in a society where everybody wants to be famous...to get their 15 minutes in the spotlight.....youtube, twitter, facebook, blogs, etc. are full of people trying to make sure everybody knows who they are. When someone commits a heinous act like this, they get their 15 minutes. Suddenly EVERYBODY knows who they are as the media digs up details to describe every aspect of the loser's life leading up to their crime. Screw that. Don't mention them. Don't show their picture. Don't dig into their past. Don't give them the time of day.

Enough ranting for one night, though. Prayers for comfort go out to the families of the children killed, as well as those who lived through it. For those tasked with cleaning up, prayers for strength. That has got to be one hell of a gut-wrenching sight....

The whole thing on this sphincters part is complete cowardice . I would drag his dead body out in the street and burn it without giving him a second thought. Ben said stiffer sentences for criminals might help, but in this case, he couldn't have been deterred. I agree with Rowdy, infamy is enticing to these kinds of jagoffs. Let me clue you in on something, famous or not, you're still dead, and at that point it doesn't matter. Hopefully there is a hell and he's got a special little spot there.

I truly beleive it comes from Hollywood, just look at this new movie with Tom Cruise.........Come on are you kiddin me! this is crazy! I remember when I was a kid they took the three stooges off of TV cause they would hit each other with hammers an crow bars an stupid stuff like that!! It's all about what sells in Hollywood and screw the people! an then these far left loons point the finger at everybody else! I say stop all this crazy electronic games and over the edge movies! Just look what Hollywood did to Batman??? When I was a kid it was 'Holy ice-cube Batman It's cold in here!' today he's got a tank and Black Hawk Chopper for God's sake! ernie, if feel you are correct. my wife and i have said the same thing about the crap that is out and on tv. you cant even walk away from the tv and let the kids watch commercials. we need to bring prayer back to the schools and have morals in our leaders and slowly we can turn this country around

Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.

I hate that the media has made a circus yet again out of a senseless tragedy. Hollywood can't be fixed, it's run wholly by depraved homos, drug addicts and whore mongers. They show what they want to see and everyone that subscribes to their way of thinking is brought down by it. I'm not a religious guy, but I have a deep sense of right and wrong. Nothing good comes from violent video games or every other show on reality TV filled with self-absorbed gays and the like.

What happened to unbiased news reporting? A few years ago I witnessed a newsworthy event. Having been there, I watched all 3 local station's reporting and all 3 presented it in a totally different light, none of which was exactly as I saw with my own two eyes! I'm not saying that they lied, but they took some liberties.........

The only way to "fix" the media problem is to ignore them. No one watching equals no one paying.

Morgan Freeman's personal life aside, I think he hit the nail on the head with that statement. The Columbine, Virginia Tech, and Newtown shootings (amongst others) were pre-meditated and in the sick minds of indviduals responsible, the only way to achieve notoriety is by out-doing the last guy. To blame guns and the so-called lack of gun control is ignorant, it's much more complicated than that.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people! How is a gun different than a vehicle in a fatality? When anything is used incorrectly, it can be a weapon.

I could not agree more with everyone posting on here and as a reminder the guns used in this terrible event were legally owned and registered by and then stolen from the shooters mother who was also his first victim so how could have more gun control laws for law abiding citizens have prevented this

i live in Newtown, my house is about 3 miles from the scene, i dont know anyone personally that was a victim but the town is a sad place. just driving down the main road that goes through town gives you chills. I know many of the volunteer firemen that were around the scene and they said it was/is a very tough place to be. To point a finger as to why or what caused this to happen just wont help anything, at this point what is done is done and unfortunatly we cant go back in time and change what has happened. All we can do is give our thoughts, prayers, and support to all of the victims, familys, and first responders of this tragedy
