Wow a 400 series Brockway with a torsion bar cab!!!

Ron

Wow, you can see the torsion bar!!! The Brock doesn't appear to be the least bit intimidated by the weather.

Be careful on the roads and the sidewalks. It's slip and fall season.

OH YEAH, any more non-snowing photos of that sweet Brock wrecker? I see a model in need of being built.!!

Unfortunately someone converted it to hydraulic tilt.It's a '67 E457T,6-71 Detroit powered,10 speed,with a 600 Holmes bed.

Probably just as well, I bet you'd play hell trying to find torsion bars!

They weren't that easy to raise the cabs with them anyway unless you had them wound up pretty tight, but then if you had them wound that tight they didn't

last very long.

If you ever heard one snap when you going down the road the cab would shake and you would swear you broke an axle or something!

Funny story: We had a Brockway broken down at O'Hare Mack can't remember exactly when, mid 80's?, wouldn't charge, the shop foreman told the mechanics to put the cab

up on it and then went inside. He came back about ten minutes later and the cab wasn't up on it yet and asked them why? They said they couldn't find the cab jack!

Luckily the foreman was a little older and showed them how to put the cab up!!!!

Everyone be careful out there. This is the first "major" snow storm of the season and there are a lot of idiots that forgot how to drive in snow and ice.

BTW, today is the shortest day of the year in addition to the first day of winter. That means the days will be getting longer and spring is on its way! And you know what that means... truck show time! Yippie!!!

Went to Dubois pa last night, i80 was a mess from snow shoe to Dubois. Didn't see one salt/plow truck the whole way. Penndot drops the ball again!

I am glad I drove to OH on Thursday afternoon (only rain on PA turnpike). I80 is always a mess around DuBois.

Macungie is June 14-15th. Lititz is the first Saturday in October. But I heard rumor Lititz may not happen next year. Perhaps David Igou or Doug Maney will know if this is true or not. I sure hope it is NOT true.

I ran the pike to Carlisle and back last night. Just a little wet snow in the Somerset area, not enough to awaken the Turnpike plow crew.

Forecast was for 8-12 in Somerset, guess that didn't happen last night.
