Hey guys im 22 and had big dreams. I own two mack rmodels. One is. 77' with a twin stick and the other is a 87' with a 10 spd and basically they bother were covered with salt water fully submerged because of hurricane Sandy. My mom has been working three jobs and i want her to retire and those trucks were her ticket and now i have nothing. My questionis can i rebuild those motors or am i wasting my time because it was salt water and not fresh. Where they were parked they should've never been there the owner of the lot moved them and now there lost. Can i sue him.

Had 3 trucks here in Nashville that got submergered for a week under water during the flood we had sevral years ago , more like septic sludge . Drained all fluides engine ,trans rears removed turbo intake piping and poured water out turned engine over by had installed new batterys and fuel and they are still running working today. These were 2006 model macks with alot of electronics . Lets see some pics of the damage and we can go from there.

if the owner of the lot says he will fix em hold him to it, I would want to see the trucks and make sure he does it, may take a while but it would be cheaper to let him do it for sure.

"if the owner of the lot says he will fix em hold him to it, I would want to see the trucks and make sure he does it, may take a while but it would be cheaper to let him do it for sure." Get it in writing!! If you know a Notary that might do you a favor and go with you, take him/her with you if possible, present the yard owner with a simple statement of intent, and be explicit what he offered to do and what you expect from him. Be sure to remind him this agreement protects HIM as well as YOU. Have the signatures Notarized. Even without the Notary, still get him to sign the agreement, and let him know this isn't to make trouble,it's to prevent any misunderstandings.

People often say things like that early on,but back out of the agreement later when they discover what the expense will be.

Once you get the agreement signed, and stored away safe,it might be worth asking if he could move your trucks up in line a ways closer to "Next". Worst he could do is say "No",but????? :idunno: I don't know how you're fixed for free time, but you might even see if he'd buy the needed filters and fluids and let you change 'em on your trucks, thus taking some pressure off him. (And protecting the innards of your trucks as well.)
